I have a problem with the Body Mass Index. By definition it is BMI = W/H² where W = weight in Kilograms and H = Height in meters. This wonderful formula was developed by Belgian mathematician Lambert Adolphe Jacques Quetelet in the late 1800s. It became popular in the 1950s as the western populous started becoming obese. Somewhere along the way, someone decided that this simple formula was the way to determine if someone was overweight.
They (the establishment) set defined limits to the outcome of this formula.
